At Kowai, te reo Māori and English live side by side in everything we do — in our karakia and waiata, at kai time, in play and in quiet moments. Tamariki don’t “learn a language” here; they simply grow up inside two of them.
Our curriculum draws on both Te Whāriki, Aotearoa’s world-renowned early childhood framework, and Australia’s Early Years Learning Framework, honouring both lands our whānau call home.
We follow each child’s curiosity — through art, music, pūrākau (stories), gardening and messy, joyful discovery. Our kaiako observe, extend and document each tamaiti’s journey so whānau can follow along.
By the time tamariki leave us for school, they carry confidence in two languages, a strong sense of identity, and a love of learning that lasts.
